Topro Calcium bolus is a mineral dietetic feed especially for cows that are calving. Cows have a high calcium requirement around calving because large amounts of milk are produced. Administer the bolus to reduce the risk of milk fever (hypocalcaemia).

Topro Calcium bolus reduces the risk of milk fever

Topro Calcium bolus was specially developed to reduce the risk of milk fever. Each calcium bolus contains 20 grams of pure, easily absorbable calcium, which is immediately released in the rumen. A deficit is therefore supplemented right away. Besides calcium, vitamin D has also been added to this bolus. A good supply of vitamin D is essential for the effective absorption of calcium. This bolus also contains phosphorus (5.4%). Phosphorus is necessary for the retention of calcium, and a phosphorus deficit often accompanies a calcium deficit.

Dosage

• 12-24 hours before calving: 2 boluses
• Immediately after calving: 2 boluses
• 10-12 hours after calving: 1 or 2 boluses
• 24 hours after calving: 1 or 2 boluses

Dosage after a calcium infusion

• 2 boluses 2 hours after the infusion
• 2 boluses 12 hours after the infusion
